Copenhagen Plant Science Centre at Department of Plant and Environmental Sciences wishes to appoint two highly motivated postdoctoral fellows in photosynthesis and synthetic biology from 1 May 2014, or as soon as possible thereafter. The period of employment is 2 years with the possibility for extension.

Copenhagen Plant Science Centre (CPSC) is a newly established centre at University of Copenhagen. The aim of CPSC is to create a cross-disciplinary scientific environment that bridges plant scientists and advances research from bench to field. Initially, the centre will be situated in existing laboratories at Frederiksberg Campus. In 2016 the research centre will be housed in the new Plant Science Building.

Job description
The research area is within molecular biology and molecular genetics of regulatory processes in chloroplasts. A major focus is photosynthesis but other areas are also of interest. Candidates using cyanobacteria as models for chloroplasts will also be considered. In addition to conducting research, the fellows have obligations to participate in meetings and conferences, to assist the PI in grant applications, to prepare manuscripts, to supervise students and participate in teaching activities.

Qualification requirements
Qualified applicants must have obtained PhD degrees by the commencement of the project.

Documented qualifications within plant biochemistry, molecular biology, bioinformatics, synthetic biology or protein modelling are required. Fluency in both spoken and written English is required.

The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff.

Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.
