A position for a post-doc is available at the Hotchkiss Brain Institute for a highly qualified and motivated individual to conduct basic experimentation on mechanisms of neurodegenerative disease.
This exciting project is focused on advanced fluorescent spectroscopy imaging techniques examining misfolded proteins in the CNS in various neurodegenerative disorders, including Alzheimer's disease. The applicant therefore must have solid experience in tissue preparation for microscopy and experience with laser scanning microscopy.
The candidate will work in a larger group of trainees and researchers involved in a broad variety of projects and advanced experimental imaging techniques. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Located at the Foothills Medical Campus, University of Calgary, Alberta, the Hotchkiss Brain Institute (www.hbi.ucalgary.ca/) is home to over 100 neuroscientists working on various aspects of basic and applied neurobiology, creating a highly stimulating, multidisciplinary and vibrant research environment.
