A post-Doctoral Scientist position is available immediately in the department to study molecular mechanisms that control human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) transcription and latency. Primarily focusing on three main aspects of HIV life cycle, 1) HIV latency and role of epigenetic modifications in regulating HIV transcription during both latency establishment and upon reactivation of latent proviruses; 2) How HCV co-infection affect the life cycle of HIV and vice versa in HIV patients; 3) Role of drugs of abuse on HIV infection in drug addict HIV patients. You will be required to conduct research on drugs of abuse treated cells.
The responsibilities include: planning, conducting, and analyzing experiments, proven ability to write manuscripts, and presenting data through seminars and posters at scientific talks and meetings.
The candidate should be experienced with molecular biology methods, mammalian tissue culture and transfections. Experience working with viruses and/or other human pathogens, prior experience with flow cytometry, ChIP assays and data analysis is desirable. Willingness to be trained to work with human biological samples (e.g. blood, tissue samples).
Minimum Qualifications:
PhD in molecular biology or related field
Desired Qualifications:
-1-2 years of research experience at postdoctoral level
Publication history; some research publications
Proven ability to write articles in English
Experience in molecular biological techniques
