Position Overview
We are currently seeking a Post Doctoral Fellow for studying Fetal Brain Injury in the Department of Pediatrics. This is a full-time position and is benefits eligible. Hours will be scheduled on first shift.
Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the Principal Investigator, the Post Doc Fellow will work independently in the research lab, analyze data, perform research procedures and participate in creating research literature. This position is expected to write drafts of manuscripts of the completed projects and develop new proposals for funding while successfully completing research projects.
The Post-Doctoral Fellow will conduct perinatal brain injury research. The Post-Doc should work harmoniously with other members of the laboratory and neighboring laboratories, be able to both follow instructions and conduct independent projects, and perform ethical scientific research of the highest integrity.
Our ideal candidate will have:
• Ph.D. or M.D. equivalent for post-doctoral fellow
• Preferably background in neuroscience
• Prefer experience in animal surgery if possible, in rabbits
• Expertise in one or more of these areas:
1) stereology and neurohistochemistry;
2) HPLC and neurochemistry; or
3) molecular biology
• Ability to plan and conduct experiments independently, a pleasant disposition, and no allergies to rabbits.
