About Simula Simula Research Laboratory AS is a publicly owned research institute located outside Oslo, Norway. It is a multi-cultural organization, employing about 130 individuals from 25 countries. Project Description Candidates are invited to apply for a Post-doctoral position in HPC technology for shared memory clustering/Big Data processing at Simula Research Laboratory in Oslo, Norway. This position will be funded by the NumaMultiConnect research project (Cost-efficient HPC technology with mainframe capabilities). IBM and University of Oslo are also partners in the project. The Post-doctoral position lasts for three years, starting as soon as possible. Responsibilities As a Post-doctoral candidate you will work closely with our industry partner Numascale in developing a framework for system-level dynamic error detection and handling; as part of the next generation technology for connecting processors from multiple CPU manufactures and form a shared memory system enabling in-memory processing. Your Profile Candidates should hold a PhD in computer architecture. In particular, we look for candidates with experience in HPC clustering and shared memory processing including doing hardware experiments. Eligible applicants are people with: •A PhD in computer architecture. •A strong background in HPC clustering and shared memory processing. •Experience with systems programming. •Strong programming skills (C, C++, Java or other languages). •Strong English writing skills. •A good ability to cooperate with others and work independently on challenging problems. The ideal candidate is able to show evidence of her/his background and interest in computer architecture research through scientific or other types of publications, or through extracurricular activities. Successful applicants will be part of a dynamic and highly competent team in the Networked Systems department at Simula.Benefits
