加拿大阿尔伯塔大学心血管疾病博士后职位
The laboratory of Dr. Kassiri has a position available for a driven and enthusiastic post-doctoral fellow. The laboratory investigates the mechanism of remodeling in heart and vascular diseases. Genetically modified mice (cell specific or whole body deficient for specific genes) and experimental models of human heart disease (myocardial infarction, pressure overload) and vascular diseases (aneurysm, hypertension) are utilized to determine the cellular and molecular mechanism of extracellular matrix (ECM) and tissue remodeling (within the cardiovascular system). Experience in mouse surgery (e.g. LAD ligation, aortic constriction), cell culture, immunohistochemistry and confocal microscopy will be an asset. Dr. Kassiri’s lab is a member of the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute, and the Cardiovascular Research Center (CVRC), with full access to the well equipped CVRC core facilities for high resolution echo imaging, blood pressure measurements and many more services and major equipments.
A qualified post-doctoral fellow should be able to lead a project that will involve in vivo and in vitro models cardiovascular diseases, with a strong cell/molecular biology background. The successful candidate will receive a standard stipend in accordance with CIHR guidelines, but will also be expected to apply for external fellowships and funding. Priority will be give to recent PhD graduates, with first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals who will be competitive in national fellowship funding competitions.
