英国牛津大学功能基因组学研究组博士后职位
Fixed term post on Grade 7: £29,837 to £36,661, with a discretionary range to £40,046 p.a.
MRC Functional Genomics Unit at the University of Oxford
We are seeking an ambitious and self-motivated scientist interested in using next-generation analyses and network profiling techniques, and applying them to ‘omics’ profiles (genomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics, proteomics) obtained for disease-relevant iPSC-derived cells. This post, funded largely by the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI), lies at the heart of a large international consortium (www.stembancc.org) that is generating and interrogating induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived cells to better understand, and identify novel therapeutics for, a range of human disorders. You will join a research group that has established an international reputation for genome-scale data analyses, disease genomics and cellular pathway analyses. From your cellular ‘omics’ perspective, you will be able interact with many of the 35 StemBANCC partners working on diverse challenges, from cell identity through to disease phenotype through to therapeutic response.
A relevant PhD degree, experience of scripting (e.g. Perl/Python) and advanced UNIX/linux skills are essential. Expertise in current bioinformatics tools and resources, functional genomics and method development will also be desirable. Excellent organisational and communication skills are required, together with the ability to work well independently and within a team.
The post is available from 1st April 2014 and will be based in the MRC Functional Genomics Unit, Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics, University of Oxford. Information about the work of the Unit can be found at http://www.mrcfgu.ox.ac.uk/fgu. Informal enquiries can be addressed to Dr Caleb Webber (caleb.webber@dpag.ox.ac.uk).
The closing date for applications is midday Monday 24th March 2014.
Interviews are likely to be held the second week of April 2014.
