德国科隆大学医学院分子医学中心招聘博士后
The Center for Molecular Medicine Cologne (CMMC) is a multidisciplinary center at the University of Cologne providing a forum that brings together physician scientists with basic researchers from the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences to perform competitive basic, disease-oriented research. The mission of the CMMC is to advance the understanding of the underlying molecular and cellular mechanisms as a prelude to improving prevention, diagnosis and treatment of many common health problems. For further information, please visit www.zmmk.uni-koeln.de
The Center for Molecular Medicine Cologne invites applications from enthusiastic, motivated individuals for the independent Research Group (NRW Stem Cell Network) of Dr. Leo Kurian. The group is affiliated to the Department of Neurophysiology and located at Centre for Molecular Medicine (CMMC).
One Post-doctoral position for studying long non-coding RNA (IncRNA) biology in cardiovascular development and regeneration
The position will start no later than August 2014 for a period of 2 years with the possibility to extend for additional 2 years. The positions are based on the German TV-L salary conditions. The CMMC places strong emphasis on gender equality and seeks to increase the proportional representation of women in this field. Applications from female scientists are especially welcome; suitably qualified women will be given preferential consideration unless other candidates clearly demonstrate superior qualifications. We also welcome applications from disabled candidates, who will also be given preferential consideration over applicants with comparable qualifications.
What we are looking for:
We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Scientist with a strong background in development biology to study the role of lineage specific long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in the context of embryonic cardiovascular development. We use differentiating human pluripotent stem cells as well zebrafish as model systems. Interfacing fundamental developmental biology, stem cell biology and translational research, the mission of the project is to gain deeper understanding to the function and molecular mechanisms of lineage specific lncRNAs in the context of human cardiovascular development and regeneration.
Qualified applicants should:
- Hold a Ph.D. in development biology
- Proficient in zebrafish biology preferably in the context of cardiovascular development
- Have a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals
-
Willingness to learn differentiation systems based human pluripotent stem cells already
established in the lab - Experience with TALEN or CRISPERi technologies will be advantageous
Please visit http://www.lklab-uni-koeln.de/index.html to learn more about the group’s interests and ongoing research.
If you have further questions or for informal queries please do not hesitate to contact Dr. Leo Kurian: l1kurian@ucsd.edu
Have we awakened your interest? Then please forward your complete application including a brief statement of research interest (including a one page research proposal), a curriculum vitae (including peer reviewed publication list) plus names/addresses of 2 references until 31 March, 2014 quoting the reference number e063 to Dr. Kurian:.l1kurian@ucsd.edu
