The K.G. Jebsen Centre for Influenza Vaccine Research was founded in 2013 by funding
from the Kristian Gerhard Jebsen Foundation, the University of Oslo (UiO), Oslo University
Hospital (OUH), the University of Bergen UoB) and the Institute of Public Health (FHI). The
Centre has been funded for 4 years, but may be extended to a second term. The Centre
aims at conducting excellent research on the generation of novel influenza vaccines. The
centre comprises four research groups, together forming a strong, dynamic and expansive
research environment.
Job Description
A 3-year postdoc positions (SKO1352) is available in the research group of Professor
Bjarne Bogen (Director of the Centre). The project, funded by The Norwegian Research
Council (NANOSITII project/EURONANOMEDII), will focus on construction of vaccine
molecules (Vaccibodies) for treatment of allergic diseases. The vaccine molecules are
genetically constructed and may be used as DNA or protein for immunization of
experimental animals (mostly mice). Immune responses will be measured by a variety of
techniques such as ELISA, EliSpot, Flowcytometry etc. For details of the Vaccibody

The main purpose of post-doctoral research fellowships is to qualify researchers for work in
higher academic positions within their disciplines.
Qualifications and Personal Skills
It will be an advantage with knowledge and experience in the following areas:
• molecular biology
• immunology
• experience with experiments in mice
