Funded by EU INTERREG IV A France (Channel)-England Programme, applications are invited urgently from suitable candidates for an exciting and challenging position.
Building on from our expertise, the project aims to establish the relevance of biological and analytical tools for the determination of water quality and the impact of pollutants in the marine and coastal environment. The post is suitable for a high calibre researcher with experience in applications of ‘biomarkers’ in marine organisms. Preference will be given to the candidate with recent experience of relevant techniques, analysing and interpreting complex data sets and with a proven record of publications in international journals. The selected candidate should have a high aptitude to work efficiently in a timely manner both as part of the team and independently. Excellent communication and organisational skills are prerequisites of the position, as the selected candidate will require organising and participating in different workshops and public events. As a member of the team and under the guidance of the project manager (Principal Investigator), the candidate will need to liaise with different stakeholders and other institutions participating in INTERREG IV A France (Channel)-England Programme. Where necessary, this will include travel within the UK and to northern France.
This is a full-time post working 37 hours per week and is fixed term for 7 months only, (end date 31st October 2014). Due to the funding nature, the post cannot be extended further. Short-listed candidates will be asked to attend an interview immediately after the closing date and the selected candidate will need to join at the earliest convenience.
