Seeking highly motivated individuals to work in the area of cellular signaling related to cancer development and progression. Candidates must have experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, protein expression, and cell biology. The focus of the laboratory is on the scaffold protein intersectin (ITSN) and its role in the integration of diverse cellular signaling pathways particularly from receptor tyrosine kinases (see http://mcph.uic.edu/obryan for more details). Current projects center on the role of ITSN in regulating Ras family GTPases, lipid kinases, ubiquitin ligases, protein trafficking pathways, and the importance of these ITSN-regulated pathways in human disease, particularly cancer.

Chicago is the third largest metropolitan area in the US with a highly diverse population.
