Job Description
NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY FEINBERG SCHOOL OF MEDICINE
The Ken & Ruth Davee Department of Neurology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, IL, USA is seeking postdoctoral candidates with outstanding training in molecular biology, cancer stem cells and tumor biology. Research projects in the laboratory currently focus on oncogenic signaling pathways underlying malignant phenotypes and therapy resistance of brain glioblastomas. In particular, we are investigating molecular mechanisms of cellular signaling involving post-translational modifications (phosphorylation, acetylation and methylation), autophagy, DNA damage and repair, cytokinesis and non-coding RNAs in glioblastomas and glioma cancer stem cells.
The applicant should have a fresh PhD degree (no more than two years) in molecular biology, cell biology and/or stem cell biology. The applicant must have an excellent publication record with first-author papers in high-impact journals and must be highly motivated with the drive to succeed. The applicant should be highly skilled in molecular biology/cell signaling/gene regulation. Prior experience of work in areas of post-translational modification (phosphorylation, acetylation and methylation), autophagy, non-coding RNAs, DNA damage and repair as well as experience with animals is preferred. The applicant must be able to design and conduct experiments, prepare and present their researches at scientific conference; write and edit/revise research manuscripts and grant proposals, and proficient in English communications.
