Job Description
The Division of Surgical Oncology (Department of Surgery) at the University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking to fill a Postdoctoral Research Associate position for a funded project in the area of Molecular Oncology. The main focus of research will be to elucidate in-depth the mechanism of cancer cell resistance to apoptosis, identify potential targets and design strategies to ameliorate resistance. The laboratory is equipped with state-of-the art equipments and employs the latest molecular, biochemical and cell biological approaches in cell culture and animal models of cancer.
Doctorate degree earned within the last 5 years, with relevant publications and with a strong research background in cell biology, molecular biology, and cloning is required. Candidates with 3-4 years of postdoctoral experience is preferred. Candidates should have demonstrated skills in western blotting, co-immunoprecipitation, PCR, qPCR, gene arrays, kinase assays, cell culture, transfection, gene cloning and in various in vivo xenograft and metastasis cancer models. Ability to work in a competitive environment, strong communication skills in English, demonstrated creativity and independence, and high motivation are strongly desirable.
