Postdoctoral Fellow – Tumor Metastasis, Circulating Tumor Cells, Bioinformatics, and RNA
Employer: Baylor College of Medicine
Job Number: 4018823

Application Deadline: Open Until Filled
Job Description
The Laboratory of Dr. Chonghui Cheng investigates breast cancer metastasis driven by RNA regulation. With generous support from a multi-million dollar CPRIT grant from Texas and NIH RO1s, the Cheng lab is recently relocated to Baylor College of Medicine. We are seeking highly motivated postdoctoral candidates who are interested in one of the following research areas:
- Investigation of breast cancer metastasis using animal models. We have generated unique mouse strains to understand the contribution of RNA in breast cancer metastasis, circulating tumor cells, and therapeutics resistance. We are also studying tumor immunity using mouse models and PDX models.
- Bioinformatics analysis of key RNA alterations, including lncRNA regulation, that are associated with breast cancer progression. We have been using publicly available datasets and our own experimentally relevant datasets for bioinformatics analysis. We are integrating omics data including datasets from clinical samples to identify key players that govern breast cancer progression at the RNA level.
- RNA biology. We are fascinated by how RNA is dynamically regulated during normal and pathological processes. We are investigating the mechanisms by which RNA alternative splicing is regulated in breast cancer and the functional consequences of this regulation in a metastatic phenotype.
Successful applicants should have excellent experimental expertise in molecular biology and/or mouse models of cancer. Preferred expertise includes mouse models, live-animal imaging, PDX models, and RNA biology background.
