Google+ Postdoctoral Researcher/Senior research technician/Research technician positions – Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX, USA 

Our lab focus on studying the functional and clinical impact of poor prognosis tyrosine kinase mutations identified from cancer genome sequencing. We use variety of preclinical models including cancer cell lines, Organoid cultures, patient-derived xenografts (PDXs), and Genetically engineered mouse models ( GEM ). Drs. Kavuri and Matthew Ellis (Director of Breast center) lab made significant contributions on translating genome-sequencing findings into successful phase II clinical trials. (Bose. R and Kavuri. SM, Cancer Discovery, 2013; Kavuri. SM et al, Cancer Discovery, 2015; Ben-Baruch NE. et al, JNCCN , 2015; Ma. C et al, 2017, CCR ; Huang. Kl.et al, Nature Communication, 2017). 

Postdoc job description: The successful applicant must have PhD and/or MD and have strong skills with handling animal models including performing/maintaining therapeutic experiments using PDX models. Additionally, applicant must have hands on experience with genotyping of GEM models. Bioinformatics skills will be advantageous. The applicant should have published in top tier journals and have successfully completed projects independently. Candidates who have recently complete or are about to complete their PhD will be considered. The candidates are expected to establish independent research projects and to generate high impact publications, which should provide the postdoctoral fellows with an excellent opportunity for further career development in academia. 

Senior research technician: The applicant should have solid experience on maintaining PDX and GEM models and conducting therapeutic experiments. Successful candidate should be a strong team player by coordinating with postdocs, graduate students, and technicians. Good publication record is plus. 

Research technician: The successful applicant must have MS and have strong skills with molecular biology techniques such as cloning, site directed mutagenesis and additionally hands on experience with cell culture handling. The applicant should be a team player and willing to learn new techniques such as animal handling.
