This is an exciting opportunity to join a team working on the senescence associated secretory

phenotype (SASP) in age-related tendinopathies that affect horses. We are now seeking a highly-motivated individual to investigate SASP and stress-induced RNA splicing pathways in response to the mechanical loading experienced by tendons. A major aim of the project is to test novel SASP inhibitory candidate molecules to discover their potential to slow or stop the degenerative process.

The post is funded by the Horserace Betting Levy Board (HBLB) and will be based primarily at the Royal Veterinary College with additional work at the Universities of Brighton and Exeter. This is a multidisciplinary project that brings together a major clinical problem and current advances in the field of cellular senescence which will require you to have excellent communication skills to liaise between the partners laboratories.

You will have a PhD in a relevant area of biological sciences with laboratory skills and experience of cell/tissue culture and experience in molecular genetics would be an advantage. You will have strong qualities in working independently and day-to-day management to effectively deliver the aims of the project.
