美国德克萨斯大学休斯顿健康科学中心2018年招聘博士后职位
One Postdoc Position Available, UTHealth University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, McGovern Medical School, Houston, Texas USA
One fully supported postdoc position is immediately available in the lab of Dr. Wenbo Li in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
Research Summary: Our lab focuses on understanding the mechanisms of RNA-mediated gene regulation and 3D chromatin organization in mammalian cells. We are looking for a highly motivated postdoc with an enthusiasm to uncover fundamental biology mechanisms. Good communication skills and broad knowledge of molecular biology, gene transcriptional regulation, epigenetics, RNA biology, or cancer biology are required. Interested candidates are encouraged to read our recent publication.

Our lab is located in the center of the Texas Medical Center in Houston, the world’s largest Medical Center. With a walking distance to several sister institutions such as Baylor College of Medicine, UT MD Anderson Cancer Center, Methodist Research Institute, Rice University and Texas A&M Health Science Center, there are ample opportunities for collaboration and career development. Highly competitive salary and benefits are provided. Initial appointment will be supported for 2 years, with possible extension based on performance.
About you: We would be very pleased to learn about you if you: 1) are highly self-motivated and results-driven; 2) have a recent PhD, or MD/PhD degree, with first-author publications, 3) have extensive experiences in molecular biology, biochemistry and genetics/epigenetics in mammalian cell lines, primary cells or animal models; 4) have a background in one of two specific areas: i) epigenetic mechanisms of gene regulation (e.g. histone modifying enzymes, chromatin remodelers and other epigenetic regulators); ii) RNA biology or RNA/protein interactions. Our lab utilizes extensive omics approaches (e.g. ChIP-seq, GRO-seq, HiC, CLIP-seq, and single cell RNA-seq), as well as genome editing tools such as Crispr/Cas9 and Cas13b. Candidates with experiences on any of these methods or the associated bioinformatics analyses are strongly preferred.
To apply: Contact Dr. Li at Wenbo.li@uth.tmc.edu, with an email title of “Postdoc your name degree granting institution_ year”. For example: “Postdoc_ Jason Smith_ UTHealth_2018”. Please be prepared to provide, 1) your cv, 2) a brief description of your short- and long-term career goals, scientific background and interests (in 2 pages); and 3) the contact information of three Referees.
