Job Description
The Department of Surgery - Oncology Research at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Associate. This position will provide research support to Dr. Karoline Briegel and will focus on WNT signaling and embryonic transcription factors in cancer stem cell regulation, breast cancer progression and metastasis, etiology of triple-negative breast cancer, and anti-cancer stem cell therapies. The Postdoctoral Associate will take a multidisciplinary approach to understand the basic mechanisms of tumorigeneis, which will include the use of biochemistry, cell biology, proteomics, genomics, mouse genetics, and the analysis of human clinical samples.
The duties and responsibilities for this position may include, but are not limited to:
- Conceiving and executing experiments.
- Data analysis and presentation.
- Laboratory organization and maintenance.
- Presenting seminars and other forms of research communication.
- Applying for and being successful in obtaining extramural funding.
The minimum qualifications for this position are as follows: Ph.D. in the life sciences, M.D., or other doctoral-level degree with a background in biochemistry, molecular biology, stem cell biology, and state-of-the-art genomic and proteomics techniques is desirable. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong command of the English language. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
