Purpose and Main Duties
The Institute of Structural and Molecular Biology is seeking two Post-doctoral Research Assistants to carry out biochemical/biophysical experiments and structural analysis by cryo-electron microscopy of the T4S system core complexed with individual ATPases. This structural study is led by Professor Elena Orlova and Professor Gabriel Waksman, The collaboration of these two groups has produced high profile publications in the highest impact journals (Science, 2009, 323:266-268; Nature, 2009, 462:1011-1015; PNAS, 2012, 474:49-53). The research programme is funded by a grant from the Medical Research Council to Profs E. Orlova and G. Waksman.

Candidate Requirements
Applicants should have a PhD in Structural Molecular Biology, Biophysics or a related area, postdoctoral research experience and relevant research publications.

Salary: Grade 7- £31,331 to £34223 per annum, plus the London Allowance of £2,976 per annum

Two fixed term appointments up to 3 years
