伦敦大学玛丽女王学院生物化学系招聘博士后
School of Biological and Chemical Sciences
Postdoctoral Research Assistant
BBSRC Grant, Ref: QMUL1460
A Postdoctoral Research position is available at Queen Mary, University of London (QMUL) with Prof Conrad Mullineaux.
QMUL is one of the UK’s leading research-focused higher education institutions, with a budget of £285 million per annum.
The position will be funded by a BBSRC research grant to investigate the spatial dynamics of electron transport in cyanobacteria, using a combination of in vivo fluorescence microscopy with molecular biology, biochemistry and spectroscopy. The aim is to understand how the distribution of photosynthetic and respiratory electron transport complexes in the thylakoid membranes is controlled, and how this redistribution of electron transport complexes acts as a switch between different pathways of electron transport. See Liu et al (2012) Proc Nat Acad Sci USA 10:11431-11436 for the starting point for the project.
The successful candidate will have a PhD or equivalent and/or equivalent experience. Experience in fluorescence microscopy, biochemistry and molecular biology are essential criteria for this post.
The position is full time and available for 32 months. The salary is £33,944 – £39,936 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
