加拿大约克大学实验高能物理学博士后职位
The York University high energy physics group has an opening for a postdoctoral research associate to work on the T2K neutrino oscillation experiment. The T2K collaboration includes a large Canadian group which has played a major role in the development of the experiment, including building the TPCs and fine-grained scintillator arrays for the near detector, and the Optical Transition Radiation (OTR) detector which monitors the primary proton beam in front of the neutrino beam production target. The group is currently heavily involved in the ongoing data-taking and physics analysis of the experiment.
The York T2K group has collaborated with the University of Toronto and TRIUMF on the design, fabrication, installation and operation of the OTR detector, the readout electronics and software for slow-control, and analysis packages to process the data in real time.
The successful candidate will be expected to take a leading role in this on-going project as well as make important contributions to the neutrino flux predictions and oscillation physics analysis. T2K-Canada is also involved in analysis of far detector data from Super-K, and the candidate may become involved in studies for future experiments such as Hyper-K.
Candidates should have a recent PhD degree in experimental particle physics. Some experience with neutrino physics is desirable, but candidates from other areas of particle physics will be considered. Some knowledge of electronics and C++ would be advantageous. The successful candidate will primarily be based in Toronto, but travel to Japan and Vancouver will be expected.
