The laboratory of Dr. Luk Vandenberghe at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and Schepens Eye Research Institute, both affiliates of Harvard Medical School is recruiting for a motivated scientist to help develop novel genetic therapies for diseases that lead to blindness.
The ideal candidate should have an M.D and/or Ph.D. and strong background in molecular biology, cloning, animal research and tissue culture. Additional experience in virology, translational medicine and/or ophthalmology is a plus.
Candidates are expected to work independently, be highly creative and self-motivated. They must be able to work collaboratively and be interested in working with individuals from many different backgrounds including clinicians and basic scientists. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. The fellow will have opportunities to develop his/her own project, acquire new skills, participate in grant writing, and participate in seminars and other academic activities, including presenting at national conferences.
