Donghua Shangshi Forum for International Young Scholars aims to build a platform for academic exchanges among young scholars at home and abroad. Through activities as theme lectures, academic reports and campus visits, collision of academic ideas and cooperation of scientific research will be promoted. We will share the latest research trends and discuss interdisciplinary collaboration and academic innovation during the forum through two portions, online meeting and offline communication. We sincerely welcome young talents at home and abroad to grow and develop with DHU !

五、东华大学简介/ Introduction of DHU
东华大学,地处中国上海,是教育部直属、国家“211工程”、国家“双一流”建设高校。学校创建于1951年,时名华东纺织工学院,是新中国第一所纺织高等学府。1960年,被国家教育部确定为全国重点大学,是中国首批具有博士、硕士、学士三级学位授予权的大学之一。1985年,学校更名为中国纺织大学。1995年,进入国家“211工程”重点建设行列,1999年,更名为东华大学。2017年入选国家“双一流”一流学科建设高校。
Located in Shanghai, DHU is one of the state-key universities directly under the Ministry of Education since 1960. Founded in 1951 as East China Textile College, it changed its name to China Textile University in 1985, and in 1999 was renamed, Donghua University. It is one of the first universities accredited by the Ministry of Education for granting the doctor, master and bachelor degrees. In 2017 DHU was enlisted in "Double First-Class University Plan".
学校拥有6个博士后流动站、10个一级学科博士点、2个博士专业学位授权类别、28个一级学科硕士点、17个专业学位硕士授权类别、55个本科专业,学科涉及工学、理学等九个学科门类。共有1个一级学科国家重点学科,5个二级学科国家重点学科,1个国家重点(培育)学科,7个上海市一流学科,1个上海高校Ι类高峰学科。纺织科学与工程成功入选国家一流学科,工程学、化学、材料科学、计算机科学入围ESI世界前1%学科领域。学校拥有1个国家重点实验室、1个国家工程技术研究中心,19个省部级科研平台,2个国家“111”引智基地以及国家大学科技园。
DHU offers 6 postdoctoral research programs, 10 doctoral programs in first-level disciplines, 2 doctorate degree conferment categories, 28 Masters programs in first-level disciplines, 17 professional Masters programs, and 55 undergraduate programs across 9 disciplines including engineering, science, management and so on. DHU has 1 first-level national key discipline, 5 second-level national key disciplines, 1 national key (developing) discipline, 7 Shanghai universities first-class disciplines, and 1 Shanghai university peak discipline in CategoryⅠ. Textile Science and Engineering is selected as “world first-rate” discipline initiative by the Ministry of Education in 2017. Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science and Computer Science are in the world top 1 percent according to of the Essential Science Indicators (ESI). Meanwhile, DHU owns 1 national key laboratory, 1 national engineering technology research center, 19 provincial and ministerial research platforms, 2 talent introduction “111 plan” bases and 1 national university Science Park.
